MSP Kenny Gibson and MP Patricia Gibson are holding another Employment Fayre - and this time it is in Saltcoats.

It follows four hugely successful events in Ardrossan, Beith, Largs and Ardrossan again in 2013, 2014, 2015, and earlier this year.

The event will bring together employers that can offer employment and training opportunities to local people.

The fayre will be held in Saltcoats Town Hall on Friday, October 28 from 9am-1pm

Kenneth Gibson said: “To date more than 45 national, Ayrshire and local companies ranging from BT to CalMac and GSK to Morrisons Construction and NHS Ayrshire and Arran to Voca have confirmed their participation with staff, information, exhibition stands and one-to-one discussions.

“We anticipate around 60 employers by October 28.

“The Employment Fayre is for people of all ages and skills and aims to provide an excellent opportunity to meet employers with vacancies and organisations who help people into work.

“JobcentrePlus and North Ayrshire Council are working with us in partnership to ensure this event is the best it can be.

“If you, a relative or friend are looking for employment or training, then please come along.”

MP Patricia Gibson added: “At previous North Ayrshire employment fayres, the employers themselves were delighted by the turnout and the enthusiasm of those who came along.

“In many cases, people will have found work, apprenticeships or even just a better idea of what choices and opportunities are available.

“As a secondary school teacher of 23 years’ experience in the classroom, I know how bewildering and challenging the world of work can seem for many young people.

“That’s why I look forward to seeing as many senior school pupils at the Employment Fayre as possible.”

The MP added: “It is important not just to see what careers and opportunities are available in Ayrshire and further afield but have the opportunity to speak directly to prospective employers.”
