TWO children are in a serious condition after a two-car smash between Dalry and Kilbirnie this afternoon.
At around 2.30pm today (Thursday), police and emergency services responded to a report of a two car road traffic collision on the B780 Dalry to Kilbirnie road near to its junction with the B784, involving a Black Chevrolet Spark and a Red Vauxhall Corsa.
The 66-year-old woman who was driving the Chevrolet and her passenger, a 32-year-old man, were both taken to Crosshouse Hospital by ambulance where they were found to have sustained minor injuries.
The 28-year-old woman who was driving the Corsa and two children who were passengers, an 8-year-old girl and a 4-year-old boy were taken by ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.
The 28-year-old woman is described by medical staff as stable. The two children are described as being in a serious condition following the incident.
The B780 has been closed to allow for police enquiries and local diversions remain in place.
