A MAN has been arrested over the murder of Stevenston man John Smith.
Police released a statement this morning (Wednesday) stating that a 26-year-old man had been detained in connection with the incident.
The man was nabbed after a high-profile manhunt in which he was said to be on the run with missing Ayr woman, Farrah Fadli, and another man.
Police are continuing enquiries into the second suspect, Craig Munro, 30, and Farrah Fadli is still missing.
Smith died in hospital after an incident in the town's Misk Knowes on Sunday, October 8.
A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: "A 26-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident. A report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal."
The 26-year-old is due to appear in court today (Wednesday).
