FIREFIGHTERS attended a blaze, thought to have been set deliberately, at an empty building in Dalry on Saturday, November 12.
Appliances from Dalry and Kilbirnie raced to the disused factory unit in Braehead after repeat calls from the public alerted them to the fire late on Saturday afternoon.
Station Manager Derek Davidson said: “The crews arrived to find refuse and factory fixtures and fittings on fire in the disused property.
“The Incident Commander immediately instructed teams to tackle the blaze using breathing apparatus and high-pressure hose reel jets while checking for hidden fire spread.”
Mr Davidson added “This is not the first time we have had cases of wilful fire-raising within this property and, as such, Police Scotland were requested to attend due to the suspicious circumstances.
“They will work in conjunction with us until they establish a positive line of enquiry. If people enter buildings like this and set malicious fires they are putting themselves very much at risk because there is a very real danger that they may become trapped and get injured or even lose their life.”
