NORTH Ayrshire Council’s yearly employee recognition initiative - North Ayrshire Achieves - was once again supported by customers and residents across the area.

In April, the council asked residents to nominate an employee who had given an excellent service which went beyond what you expected.

In July, three finalists were selected from the many nominations.

They are now delighted to announce the winner of the Customer Excellence Award and the other winners in the eight categories nominated by colleagues.

Joan Nicoll was recognised for providing a service beyond what was expected and for the fantastic support she gave to a family of four young children.

The council wish to thank everyone who took the time to make a nomination and help recognise those employees who really do make a difference to people’s lives.

Employees across the council nominated their fellow colleagues for awards in a further eight categories.

The Customer Excellence category is the only one nominated by the general public.

The other winners were:
* Exceptional Employee of the Year Paul Gillespie, Sessional Youth Worker.
* Learning Champion - Tommy McAuley, Technical Officer.
* Modern Apprentice of the Year - Danielle Smith.
* Growing our North Ayrshire - Business Growth Team.
* Building Community Capacity - Woodland View Volunteering Improvement Group.
* Skills for Life - Social Services SVQ Assessment Team.
* Promoting Wellbeing - The CHARLIE Programme.
