THE Scottish SPCA is seeking the owner of a cat who was found in West Kilbride.

Scotland’s animal welfare charity was alerted on Sunday, December 4, when the cat was discovered under a tree on Portencross Road, West Kilbride.

The cat, who has been named Candy, is now in the care of the Scottish SPCA’s animal rescue and rehoming centre in Ayr, where she is being treated for a mild skin condition.

Animal rescue officer Sheena MacTaggart said: “We were alerted to the cat when a dog walker saw her sitting in the same position under the tree for a couple of days.

“We think Candy has been someone’s pet as she is sociable and very friendly.

“She is a black and white cat and is estimated to be around three to five years old.

“Unfortunately Candy is not microchipped so we are hoping someone will recognise her and contact us.”

Anyone who recognises Candy is asked to call the centre on 03000 999 999.
