STEVENSTON swimming star Danielle Joyce ended an amazing week by meeting her idol and Olympic legend Michael Phelps as she attended the BBC Sports Personality of the Year on Sunday.

Danii was at the prestigious event as a guest of UK Deaf Sport and mingled with the starts posing with Sir Chris Hoy and Jessica Ennis amongst others.

It comes just a week after Danielle smashed SEVEN Deaf World Records at the Scottish National short course Swimming Championships held in the Royal Commonwealth pool in Edinburgh.

Danii became the first Deaf female swimmer to go below 26 seconds for 50 metre Freestyle and her time of 25.81 puts her 14th on the All-Time list of Scottish swimmers with hopefully more to come.

Danielle will now be focussing on the Deaflympics in July but she still needs your support to help her get there. You can read about Danielle and help her on her journey at  https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/danii-joyce
