RESIDENTS and staff at a Beith care home rose to the occasion when they won a special Christmas-themed cake decorating competition.
Spiers Care Home scooped top place in Silverline’s competition for their impressive ‘Santa and Rudolph in bed’ dessert.
The competition ran across Silverline’s seven homes and residents and staff were encouraged to design and create a festive-themed cake.
Rachel Dryden, CEO of Silverline Care visited each home to judge the cakes.
She said: “All seven homes put in a lot of effort and created some fantastic cakes, but Spiers Care Home was particularly impressive.
“All of the residents and staff thoroughly enjoyed coming up with designs and then making the Christmas cakes, it was a lovely thing to do for Christmas.”
The cake decorating competition was one of many Christmas activities. Residents were also treated to a pantomime, a Christmas craft fayre and a trip to Glasgow to see the lights.
