AYRSHIRE support group Break the Silence has received a donation of £1,000 from family housebuilder Mactaggart & Mickel Homes’ Building Communities Fund.

The funding will allow the group to continue to provide its vital free and confidential support services to adult survivors of childhood sexual abuse and rape, their partners and their family members. The donation will also support the continued provision of weekly activities for survivors.

Joanne Casey from Mactaggart & Mickel commented: “Break the Silence is one of the first good causes to benefit from our fund and it gives us great pleasure to help them continue to make a difference in their local community. ”

Alison Tait, Chief Executive of Break the Silence, said: “We would like to express our thanks and gratitude to Mactaggart & Mickel Homes for supporting Break the Silence.

“All support provided by Break the Silence is designed to help survivors work through their trauma, move forward and to improve their social wellbeing and psychological health, enabling and supporting them to enjoy an attainable standard of living, health and family life.”
