POLICE were called to a street in Ardrossan after a report that a man had a firearm.
Officers were contacted at 12.40pm to attend Castle Road in the town but they confirmed to the Herald that no weapons were discharged and nobody was injured as a result of the incident.
A spokeswoman for Police Scotland said that they are following a positive line of enquiry.
