AN Ardrossan publican swapped pulling pints for pulling on his swimming trunks as he braved the cold for a charity New Year’s Day dip.
Ronnie McConnachie, owner of Jack’s Corner in the town, was supported by family and friends and managed to raise a fantastic £600 for charity in the process.
The money was this week presented to HCPT, who help with pilgrimage holidays to Lourdes for children and adults all across the UK.
Ronnie said: “The support I got from the pub was excellent. I think they all thought that I would chicken out.
“It was cold on the day but not too bad because it was a nice day.
“If the wind was blowing when we went out if have been a lot worse.”
The charity helps to take thousands of disadvantaged and disabled adults and children to Lourdes in Easter and in the Summer.
Ronnie is pictured handing the cheque for £600 over to representatives of HCPT.
