TWO Garnock Valley organisations celebrated receiving £22,000 between them in funding from Tesco Kilbirnie.
Garnock Community Campus and Hillhead Pets Corner picked up their share of Tesco’s £25m carrier bag charge fund through the Bags of Help scheme.
Hillhead, based in Kilbirnie, was awarded £12,000, while the new campus received a grant of £10,000.
Youngsters from the school, along with James Smith from Hillhead Pets Corner, popped into the store on Bridgend to celebrate receiving their money.
Heather Young, people manager at Tesco in Kilbirnie, said: “We’re all very proud to be involved in the Bags of Help funding scheme.
“It was great to hear more about the projects from the youngsters at the school and from James at Hillhead Pets Corner.
“I’m looking forward to seeing how the funding makes a real difference to these organisations and their communities.”
The £12,000 awarded to Hillhead Pets Corner will go towards creating a sensory garden for visitors.
Youngsters at Garnock Community Campus will use their £10,000 to build a greenhouse and a community garden.
