STEVENSTON woman Dawn Stoney went all out in the name of charity and had her long locks chopped off.

Dawn, who works as a nurse at the Three Towns Care Home decided she would raise money for MacMillan Cancer Care.

She also decided to donate her hair to the Little Princess Trust.

And in doing so she has raised almost £3,000 for the charity.

The Stevenston woman took the brave decision to support her dad and mother in law who were both diagnosed with cancer late last year.

The big chop took place at O’Hair in Stevenston.

Dawn said: “They have received fab care from their Macmillan nurses so I decided to raise money for them by shaving my head.

“I have raised just under £3000 for MacMillan and donated my hair to the Little Princess trust who make wigs for children.

“I am very happy to have done it and I am enjoying my maintenance-free hair style.

“I have been overwhelmed with the generosity of the people who sponsored me and my family who have supported me.”
