A PUPIL from St Bridget’s Primary has won a £500 prize for his school after winning a drawing competition organised by Tesco Kilbirnie.

Seven-year-old Dylan Hedges saw out competition from pupils across the area with his drawing of Kilbirnie’s local park bathed in sunshine.

Dylan’s winning design has been printed onto limited edition hessian bags that have been given away to customers at the store. He has also received £25 worth of Tesco gift cards and a £500 donation for his school.

Store manager, Andrew Mexson, said: “We received hundreds of outstanding entries from pupils across the town telling us what they loved most about Kilbirnie. It was great to see the love pupils clearly have for the area creatively demonstrated on their posters. However, Dylan’s design really stood out for us and showcases what a beautiful place Kilbirnie is.”

Andrew went to a special assembly at St Bridget’s Primary School to present Dylan with his prize and the school with their cheque for £500. The school have also been given 400 of the limited edition bags to share with staff, pupils and parents.

Head teacher Dennis Hopkins, said: “Our pupils really enjoyed taking part.”
