A SALTCOATS woman has admitted assaulting a man as well as trying to hit three police constables with a candle holder or similar item.

Jacqueline Kay, 42, behaved in a threatening or abusive manner towards the man at her home in St Cuthbert’s Court in the town, on September 8 of last year.

Kay pushed the man on the body and repeatedly scratched and struck him on the head to his injury.

Kilmarnock Sheriff Court was told that she also assaulted three police constables at her home on the same date by throwing a candle holder or similar item at them and trying to strike them with it.

Kay appeared at the court last week, where she admitted all the charges.

She was sentenced to a community payback order with 80 hours of unpaid work.
