Ferry travellers who hold flexi-tickets for vehicles on the Ardrossan-Brodick ferry route are being reminded that the tickets are being withdrawn when the Summer timetable comes into force on March 31 2017.
The move follows discussions with the Arran Ferry Committee who were keen that CalMac clamped down on people who make multiple reservations using a flexi-ticket then fail to turn up for sailings. CalMac has therefore agreed to withdraw flexi-6 tickets, and to restrict the flexi-10 ticket to a passenger-only ticket.
CalMac’s Head of Ticketing & Reservations, Alan Hood, said: “The Ardossan-Brodick route is now officially the busiest route in our network and demand for vehicle space is very high so we must ensure that our ticketing system is not open to abuse.
“Anyone who bought a flexi-ticket during the Winter timetable has been made aware that they would cease to be valid after March 30 2017, and are non refundable, but we were keen to remind our customers that they must be used before they expire to get the full value from them.”
