SALTCOATS woman Hazel Martin and ten of her friends are setting out on the 23-mile Kiltwalk from Glasgow to Balloch on April 30 to raise funds for Parkinson’s UK.
The group of pals have been inspired to take part by Hazel’s Dad Malcolm Campbell who has been living with Parkinson’s for three years.
Hazel said: “I wanted to do something to say thank you to Parkinson’s UK as a thank you for the care and attention that the charity has provide for my Dad. They have been a huge help and I’m so pleased that so many friends are joining me to raise funds. The team are all looking forward to this new challenge - we are all avid keep fitters so it’s always good to try something new.”
Jan Mattison, Parkinson’s UK Regional Fundraiser, said: “Parkinson’s UK is so grateful to Hazel and her friends for raising funds to help Parkinson’s UK support people affected by Parkinson’s across Scotland by helping to fund research to find better treatments and ultimately, a cure. Good luck to Hazel’s Nuts!”
