Charity cycling event held at Clyde Muirshiel Park

On Sunday, April 23 perfect weather conditions prevailed for nearly 300 cyclists to pedal a challenging 100km (64miles) route around Clyde Muirshiel Regional Park raising funds for CLIC Sargent in Scotland.

As the photographs show the day started cold but calm, the wind did pick up making it harder work with not many tail winds however the sun did come out and the rolling hills and coastal landscapes were simply stunning.

The event started and finished at Castle Semple Visitor Centre where all participants received goodie bags and a Pedal the Park medal for their efforts from Rachael Mclean, CLIC Sargent Fundraising Manager – West of Scotland.

Rachael said: "It was an absolute pleasure cheering everyone over the finish line and giving out the medals, it was great to meet everyone and amazing to hear all the positive feedback from all the riders! Thank you to everyone for supporting our work with young cancer patients. We rely entirely on donations to provide our vital services that help stop cancer destroying young lives, and we couldn't do it without you.”

The event was organised by Ride 63 Community Cycling Club in partnership with the Clyde Muirshiel Regional Park, participants were very complimentary of their efforts with lots of 5-star comments such as:

The well organised friendly event attracted participants from all over Central Scotland as well as Aberdeenshire and Essex, with the events growing positive reputation the date is already set for next year on Sunday, April 22.
