A COUPLE had a wedding with a difference when they got married onboard the ferry between Ardrossan and Arran.
Gordon McBlain, who lives in Ardrossan, and Dana Costine, originally from Beith, tied the knot onboard the iconic Arran ferry last week.
The couple chose the unusual venue because of Gordon’s interest in ships.
Gordon’s sister, Kim McBlain, described the wedding as “lovely”.
She told the Herald that around 30 guests had been invited to the ceremony, but the wedding party were also joined by some very curious passengers.
Kim said: “The tourists were loving it! It was quite a quiet sailing but there were about 20 people out on the deck watching. But they weren’t interfering, they were just curious.
“It was a really nice day. It was a little bit cold when we were getting our photos taken but apart from that we couldn’t fault the day.
“My brother loves planes and ferries. They were going to try and get married on a plane but there was problems with passports at the time so they decided to get married on the ferry.
“It was definitely different but it was special. Everybody enjoyed themselves and the CalMac staff were great.”
