CONCERNS about youths setting fires, smashing bottles, underage drinking and general antisocial behaviour were raised at a recent Environmental Visual Audit (EVA) in Beith.

Members of the community, partner agencies, and elected members joined the town’s Locality Policing Team in the area as part of the EVA on Monday, May 8.

EVAs bring everyone with an interest in a particular area together to identify solutions to local concerns.

PC Gillies, of the Garnock Valley Locality Policing Team, hosted the event and said that there have been a number of antisocial behaviour incidents reported in the area recently.

During the EVA, a number of actions were identified and will be implemented through additional patrols and youth engagement.

PC Gillies added: “The EVA provided a great opportunity to look at specific areas in the town – I would encourage anyone with concerns in their community to get involved – to contact their Local Policing Team or the relevant agency. Together we can make our communities safer and stronger.”
