A MAN has denied entering a house uninvited while wearing a mask and assaulting and injuring a man and woman with a knife.
Robert Galloway Barr English, of Pollock Crescent, Kilwinning, appeared at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court last week where he pled not guilty to five charges.
On March 4, English is alleged to have entered a property in Kilwinning’s Stobbs Crescent with his face masked.
He is alleged to have acted in a threatening or abusive manner, shouted, swore and uttered threats of violence towards two people residing at the address.
English allegedly presented a knife to one of the occupants and attempted to strike him with it, straddle him, repeatedly punched him on the head and body and tried to gouge his eye all to his injury.
English, 42, also allegedly pushed another resident on the body and struck her on the head with a knife to her injury.
He is also alleged to have stolen a mobile phone and money from the property and to have been in possession of a bladed or sharply pointed article, namely a knife, in a public place.
English will return to the court in June for trial with an intermediate diet to appear at the end of this month.
