ARDROSSAN centenarian Julia Paterson stole the hearts of 60,000 fans at Celtic Park on Sunday when she made her way on to the pitch at half-time.
As Celtic become the first team for over a century to go a season unbeaten in the Scottish top flight, die-hard fan Julia was a guest of honour.
She was picked up in a limo, decorated with green and white ribbons and got to meet a lot of players and former players during her day.
Julia’s daughter Margaret said: “She said she felt like royalty, everyone was so kind and helpful, they couldn’t do enough for her.
“They gave her a top and mini football signed by the players, she had her picture taken with lots of players, even former players.
“She is still in a daze and can’t believe it happened, it will take time for her to come down from on high!”
Julia received a standing ovation from the crowd as she walked out with son William and Celtic defender Mikael Lustig, who presented her with her personalised shirt.
And she even got a hug from Saltcoats’ very own Bobby Lennox as she made her way back down the tunnel to enjoy the second-half of the game.
Margaret added: “The score was great for her too.
“I think she shouted all through the match.”
