THERE will be a hustings meeting for the North Ayrshire and Arran candidates next week in Saltcoats. 

Organised by the Three Towns Churches Group, this event will take place on Monday, June 5 at 7.30pm and will be an opportunity to challenge those who seek our vote in the General Election taking place on June 8.

Hustings aim to provide voters with an opportunity to hear the views of parties and candidates in the run-up to an election. The Hustings will be chaired, as usual, by Canon Matt McManus of St Peter’s, Ardrossan.

Canon Matt said: “The Hustings is open to the whole community and we hope that Saltcoats Town Hall will be packed on the 5th. This is an important election. I would urge as many people as possible to attend the Hustings. It can help stimulate democracy and help us make an informed choice when casting our vote.”
