GET set for two days of family fun as the 2017 Saltcoats Sea Queen Festival takes place this weekend (July 15/16) in Melbourne Park.

This year’s event is jampacked with entertainments, including fun fair, stalls, live music, displays, parade, award-winning children’s entertainer Uncle Billy, inflatable slide, bouncy castle, and much more – and attendance to the festival is FREE!

Saturday’s Gala kicks off with a parade around the town, starting from the Argyle Community Centre in Campbell Avenue at 10.30am. The procession will make its way to the sea front for the 12pm crowning of this year’s Sea Queen, Mayfield Primary’s Teegan Campbell.

Anyone wishing to join the parade should be at the Argyle Community Centre for 10am. Just get some family, friends, work colleagues or groups together, dress up or decorate a float, let the Sea Queen Committee know and turn up!

Let’s support our local community and make the parade bigger and better than ever before!

After the crowning of Queen Teegan, relax and enjoy the rest of the afternoon with live stage entertainment until 4pm.

The festivities continue on Sunday from 12pm, with live entertainment on the stage between 1-3pm.

Performers include Cher and Robbie Williams tribute acts and music from the mobile disco and DJ, Starlite Leisure.

The committee would like to thank Steven McAllister at the Kandy Bar who donated £350 to support the band for the parade.
