ONEFAMILY customers across Ayrshire have one week left to nominate a local community project for a OneFamily Foundation Community Award – giving them the chance to win up to £25,000.

The OneFamily Community Awards, which close for entries on July 19, offers the opportunity for community organisations to win a significant financial grant to support a special project or initiative that will benefit a good cause and its members.

There are four different categories: health; disability and social care; lifelong learning; active living; and community groups. Each category will have eight winners with four projects receiving up to £5,000, three projects winning up to £10,000 and one project scooping £25,000.

Last year, West Kilbride Early Years Centre won £5,000 to build a new outdoor learning space. Called the ‘Discovery Forest’, the new play area will be used during playtime and story time to teach children about nature.

Karl Elliott, customer strategy director at OneFamily, said: “We’re urging our customers across Ayrshire to get involved and nominate a good cause that could benefit from a financial grant.

“In 2016, we touched the lives of more than 100,000 people through the awards, and this year we want to help even more.”
