A LOCAL Stevenston historical group made a trip across the pond to find out about cultures and history ahead of their new season starting.

On the international research visit, Bobby McGuire from the The International, Historical, Cultural and Geographical Agency met with the Chief of the Six Nation Indian Tribes at her office on the reservation and exchanged gifts. This was a memorable event as the head of the six tribes was just the second female chief ever.

She was impressed at the Agency Secretary ‘s knowledge due to his previous visits to Canada.

He also visited the first church known as her Majesty Royal Mohawk Chapel 1785, the oldest protestant church in Ontario.

Bobby also attended eight International Village Festivals of music, dancing and food from Scotland, Ukraine, China, India, Philippines, Canada, Trinidad and Tobago, Italy, Germany and the USA.

Bobby is pictured with Chief Ava Hill of the Six Nation Indian Tribes as well as other celebrations from his time abroad.

The International, Historical, Cultural and Geographical Agency will soon be prepared to restart its meetings in the Champion Shell on Monday, August 14 at 7pm.
