THE congregation of St Andrew’s Scottish Episcopal Church Ardrossan have welcomed the Reverend Canon Sandy Montgomerie in his new role as Interim Priest for North Ayrshire.
Canon Montgomerie will be in charge of the team of Episcopal Churches at St Andrew’s Ardrossan, St Peter’s Dalry and St Andrew’s Irvine. He has served these congregations for twenty years as a volunteer minister. Now he has the exciting responsibility of leading the team in the next stage of their development, which is an exciting time for them, all as they journey and plan together for the coming years.
Canon Montgomerie and his family has significant connections with St Andrew’s Ardrossan, Sandy having been baptised, confirmed and ordained in that same church building.
He is well known in the area having been part of the Saltcoats fraternity of church ministers in Saltcoats and in Ardrossan Churches Group for many years . He is also chaplain to James MacFarlane School. He also worked for many years in the organisation of the Highland Games.
