HOUSE prices in North Ayrshire are growing faster than across Scotland, the latest figures have revealed.
The National Price Index for May saw the area record an increase of 4.9 per cent, to an average price of £99,964.
This compared to East Ayrshire, which saw an increase of just 2.2 per cent, now sitting at an average house price of £92,467.
South Ayrshire remains the highest property value area, with an average of £129,233 (an increase of 5.1 per cent over the month).
The Ayrshire prices as a whole remain lower than the national average which grew 3.5 per cent during May to a level of £143,106 across Scotland.
This has been boosted by an average new build cost of over £207k, compared to £140k for resold properties.
House buyers typically spend £130k on cash purchases and £143k on homes requiring a mortgage.
