KIDS – and parents – from Star Dance Academy (SDA) in the Garnock Valley wowed at the World Lyrical Dance Federation (WLDF) World Championships 2017 recently.

SDA was representing Scotland at the event in Stratford Upon Avon, competing against dance schools from England, Ireland, Northern Ireland, Canada, and South Africa.

All SDA dancers made it through to the finals in different categories, including the Grand Final, where they got to perform at the famous Royal Shakespeare Theatre.

SDA also triumphed in the ‘Mum’s Team Dance’, winning first place with their group dance, ‘Aladdin’.

Member of SDA’s parent committee, Victoria McMillan, said: “Everyone had the opportunity to perform on the Royal Shakespeare Theatre stage in Stratford Upon Avon following in the footsteps of stars. This is the first time a competition has ever taken place in the famous theatre.

“Our girls done particularly well to place in every final.”
