THE body of a young woman was found within a house in Ardrossan at the weekend, police have confirmed.
Officers attended at an address in the town's Winton Street on Saturday night after reports of a body being found there.
The woman's death is being treated as unexplained at this point with a post mortem set to be carried out.
A spokeswoman for Police Scotland said: "Around 10.20pm on Saturday, August 5, police received a report of the body of a 29-year-old woman having been found within a property in Winton Street, Ardrossan.
"A post mortem examination will take place in due course to establish the exact cause of death, which officers are treating as unexplained at this time.
"A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal."
