THE approach North Ayrshire Council takes to enhancing and developing links with local communities has received high praise in a national report.

Education Scotland hailed Community Learning and Development within North Ayrshire as being ‘very good’ and stated how the Council and community partners have a skilled and talented workforce.

The introduction of participatory budgeting – which allows local people to decide where money should be distributed – was highlighted as a key strength.

Across the Three Towns, the report states there is a strong sense of pride and belonging shown in the high levels of volunteering.

Councillor Louise McPhater, Cabinet Member for Communities, said: “This is a fantastic report and confirms the excellent work by the council and our community partners.
