A well-known Beith Butcher has recently hung up his apron for the last time.
Billy Kelly, 69, has been in the in-store butcher in the Beith Co-op for the last 34 years but has now decided to call it a day.
Billy, known locally as Billy the Butcher, sold his last sausages on September 9 and now will enjoy his retirement with with Flo, his children and grandchildren.
Team Manager at the store Kirsten, said: “Billy is well-loved and well respected in the local community. People are always in asking for Billy the Butcher.
“He was always very accommodating as much as possible and helped the community with orders.”
Billy has lived and worked in Beith for most of his married life after being born in Greenock.
Happy retirement Billy, from all at the Herald.
