A WHOPPING £10,141.93 was raised at the recent Marion’s Still Smiling Tartan and Tiara Ball.
The glittering event was held at the Seamill Hydro on Friday, September 22.
Event organisers Maureen Ritchie and Kirstin Callaghan wished to thank family, friends and extended friends for their support, adding: “We know Marion will be smiling on us all”.
They also wished to thank Seamill Hydro, Paul Stevenson Funeral Directors, Central Car Auctions Glasgow and various local businesses
The Marion’s Still Smiling Foundation was initially set up to benefit of terminally ill cancer patients in the West of Scotland in memory of Marion Callaghan.
Maureen said: “The feedback from the 49 families that have enjoyed these respite breaks has been amazing and we know this very small gesture is greatly appreciated by them, their families and also the nursing staff at Crosshouse Hospital.
“In March this year we discovered that all children diagnosed with cancer in Scotland are treated at the Glasgow Children’s Hospital and a donation of £50,000 was made to the Oncology and Haematology ward, affectionately known as ‘Schiehallion’. We are now working closely with the GCH and are in the process of sending three children aged 12, six and two with their family away during the October holidays.
