A BIG-hearted Saltcoats mum is battling one of her biggest fears in order to raise money for her son and his classmates.
Lynette Stevens, 36, along with her sister Lynsey and brother-in-law Michael, will bungee jump off the Titan Crane in Glasgow.
But it is not the fear of heights that is the scary part for Lynette, it is the water below.
And the trio are trying to raised £500 for the Early Years Class at Mayfield Primary to kit them out with new waterproof clothes for their ‘All Weather Wednesday’ where come rain, hail or shine, they head out and enjoy the great outdoors.
Lynette explained the story to the Herald: “Noah was born six and a half weeks early and had a few weeks in High Dependency and Intensive Care at Crosshouse and they were fantastic. My oldest son phoned the ambulance and it saved both of our lives.”
Now 3-year-old Noah suffers from illnesses such as Brochiolitis & the RSV(Respiratory Syncytial Virus) when he contracts the common cold which means hospital visits are regular but the new clothing will help him and the rest of the class at the school in Saltcoats.
Acting Head Teacher, John Faulds, added: “The Early Years Class have All Weather Wednesdays and the waterproofs they have, have seen better days. We are very appreciative of the funds being raised and we will be able to buy about 20 sets. It’s great to see.”
