Man struck by a bus on busy Stevenston road
A MAN has been taken to hospital after being struck by a bus in Stevenston this afternoon.
The incident occured shortly before 4pm near to Hawkhill Cemetery on the A738 in the town.
At this stage, police are unable to confirm the severity of the injuries to the man.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 3.50pm on Wednesday 11th October, police received a report of a man having been struck by a bus on Kilwinning Road, Stevenson.
"Emergency services attended and the man was taken by ambulance to Crosshouse Hospital.
"Enquiries are continuing and the road is currently closed."
