Three schoolgirls have raised over £400 for Breast Cancer UK with a coffee morning at Ardrossan Allotments.
The event on Saturday, October 14 was organised by St Matthew’s Academy pupils Ami Paterson and Lucy Skene, both 11, and nine-year-old Sophie Skene from St Peter’s Primary.
The girls served tea, coffee and cakes to around 50 people and, at the time the Herald went to print, they had raised an impressive £440.
Ami’s gran, Maria Paterson, said: “The girls had an amazing day on Saturday. They raised an awesome amount. The cakes left over were donated to South Beach Nursing Home in Ardrossan.”
The girls wish to thank Albert’s Chip Shop, Lothian Butcher, Wavelength, Cassandra’s, Pets Global, Jennifer Reeves Hair Design, Instaglam, No1 Steamie, Costa Coffee Irvine, family and friends who donated home baking and raffle prizes, the Three Towns Growers who gave them the use of the marquee for the event, and everyone who came along to support them.
