A FORMER Saltcoats landmark will be brought back to life - with businesses being encouraged to come on board.

Moffat House, which sits on the corner of Vernon Street and Nineyards Street, is currently being renovated and now businesses are being sought to move in.

There will be an Open Day tomorrow (Thursday) where anyone can pop down and see what is available. With 11,237 sq ft of space set in a 2/3rd of an acre plot, the owners intend to provide a mixture of office and residential accommodation driven by local Three Towns demand.

Moffat House began its life in the 1870s and subsequently became the office of the Royal Bank as evidenced by the continued presence of the strong room in the building.

But it was in the 1960s that it really began to become known locally as the headquarters of the amazingly successful A T Mays Travel group, which grew to be the third largest travel agent in the UK with 300 branches, almost 2,500 staff of whom some 300 worked at the Moffat House complex.

Both new and established businesses are encouraged to head down and find out more. For more details, visit moffathouse developments.com or call Move 2 on 01294 680600.
