A MAN has admitted being caught with £120-worth of cocaine at Ardrossan’s music festival.

Anthony Breen, 22, pled guilty to possession of a class A drug at the Sounds on the Sand festival on September 23 this year.

The court heard Breen, of Alexander Avenue in Stevenston, was caught red handed with the drug at the festival’s toilet cubicles.

The court was told police attended South Beach at 7pm when they were alerted by a member of security staff that there was a man acting suspiciously near the toilet cubicle.

Police went inside the cubicle, which had just been used by Breen, and found lines of white powder on the toilet seat.

He was then searched and was found to be carrying a small plastic wrap containing three grams of cocaine which had a street value of £120.

However Breen’s lawyer Simon Brown said his client suffered from Asperger’s Syndrome and was “easily led”.

He told Kilmarnock Sheriff Court: “Mr Breen suffers from Aspergers Syndrome and one of the complications of that is that he is very easily led. He had never used the drug before. He was overwhelmed by the fact he was at a music festival.”

Breen was fined £200.
