NOBODY in North Ayrshire has been caught drink driving so far in December, police figures show.
And Chief Inspector Brian Shaw is delighted that people are taking heed of their messages as his cops have been out and about since December 1 as part of their festive crackdown.
Across Ayrshire as a whole, nine people have been detected for drink driving but not one of them has been caught in North Ayrshire.
The annual campaign focuses on the festive period and the consequences that drink or drug driving could have but CI Shaw is keen to highlight that his officers are also targetting those not wearing seatbelts and people using mobile devices whilst driving.
Chief Inspector Shaw said: “This is not about catching people, it is about preventing it. I am please to report that there has been no detections in North Ayrshire so far this campaign. I hope that this will continue and people will refrain and know the risks and dangers associated with drink driving.”
