Police are appealing for information after a man was seriously assaulted in Kilwinning.

A 45-year-old man was attacked during a large altercation on the Main Street at 10.20pm on Saturday, December 30.

The man was in a group on the footpath connecting to the Main Street outside Home Bar when a scuffle broke out.

He was then struck to the head by a man causing him to fall to the ground resulting in injury.

The suspect is yet to be traced despite extensive ongoing enquiries by Kilwinning police.

The suspect is described as being aged between 35-45-years of age, six-foot tall, medium build and was wearing a camouflage jacket at the time.
