A MAN who called his neighbour a paedophile and challenged him has been tagged.

James Bradley of Viewfield Gate, Ayr admitted repeatedly striking the door and window and uttering the grossly offensive remarks at a property in Troon last October.

The 51-year-old appeared before Sheriff Desmond Leslie at Ayr Sheriff Court last week.

The court heard how the accused and the complainer were neighbours. The incident took place at 10am when the complainer was in his flat.
Depute Fiscal Jason Bell, said: “The complainer could here shouting. Bradley was saying ‘you’re a beast, f****** paedophile, you better get out here’.

“He was kicking the door and striking the windows. The man did not have a phone and was unable to contact police.

“His friends arrived later and the complainer became aware that Bradley was at the window, shouting get him out here, I will punch his c*** in. Bradley entered the common close, banged on the door and continued to shout and swear. Police were contacted and Bradley was arrested.”

Speaking on his behalf, defence solicitor Glenn Davies, said: “Mr Bradley has been out of trouble since 2014. Your Lordship may be able to regard this as a blip.”

Addressing the dock, Sheriff Leslie, said: “You have spent enough time in prison to know that if you behave like this you will go back to jail. Let’s try and prevent that from happening.”

Bradley has been placed on a community payback order for one year and will remain at his home address from 7pm until 7am for three months.
