POLICE have been out and about in the Three Towns targeting speeding vehicles.

On Sunday, February 4, officers from the Three Towns Locality Policing Team carried out speed checks at a number of locations in the area.

Officers were deployed to High Road, Saltcoats, Lundholm Road, Stevenston and North Crescent Road in Ardrossan to monitor the speed of vehicles and engage with drivers.

PC Paul Edwards, Locality Police Officer for Ardrossan, said: “Road Safety has been highlighted as an issue of concern by local residents in the Three Towns area and today’s initiative was in direct response to this.

“Today we spoke to a number of drivers who were travelling at speeds just over the signposted limit - we will continue to monitor these areas in the coming weeks and months.

“We are committed to tackling road crime and to ensuring the safety of all road users. I would encourage anyone who has concerns regarding speeding motorists or road safety in their area to contact their local policing team by calling 101.”
