A 23-year-old man has been fined over £1,00 after admitting to dangerous driving.
Michael Robert Strachan, of Rosa Place in Saltcoats, pled guilty to one charge last week at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court.
Strachan drove a car at speeds grossly excessive to the prevailing conditions and applicable speed limit on June 10 last year at the A71 at Kilmarnock.
He pursued another vehicle which he failed to maintain a safe distance from while his own car was in a dangerously defective condition in that the two front tyres were worn with the cord exposed.
Strachan was disqualified from driving for 18 months, ordered to resit his driving test, and fined £1,500.
