YOUNGSTERS from North Ayrshire triumphed at a national dance competition in Perth recently.

The competitive teams at Charlene and Siobhan Dance Academy (CSDA) were taking part in the Boss Cheer and Dance Open Championships 2018.

A total of 47 local dancers, who are aged between five and 15, competed against teams who have danced at world championship level.

CSDA managed to scoop first place seven times at the event, were runners-up a further three times, and took third place twice.

Dance tutor Siobhan Bryden said: “As their coaches, Charlene and I incredible proud of all 47 dancers who took to the stage at one of the toughest competitions I have ever seen. The standard of dance was very high and our teams gave it their all and the results are outstanding.

“We were against teams who compete at world championships in America and who hold hundreds of titles .”
