AN ARDROSSAN fisherman and his wife are taking to the skies to support two fellow fisherman who are feared dead.

Tom Bryson, and his wife Dawn, who are both 34, are aiming to complete a self-funded skydive later in the month and aim to raise £1,000 for the fund for the families of Duncan MacDougall and Przemek Krawczyk who have been lost at sea since January 18 near Tarbert.

The pair were out on Nancy Glen with a third man who raised the alarm but extensive searches haven’t been able to trace them. A fund set up by the Clyde Fisherman’s Trust has already raised over £200,000 for the families, the efforts to retrieve the men and to help their families in the long run.

Tom, who owns HQ Shellfish, told the Herald: “The bodies of the two fishermen are trapped on the boat on the sea bed. Both have left young children and wives. The family want to raise the boat to lay their men to rest.

“The boat is only a few metresfrom the harbour in 140m of water so the locals and the families can practically see where their loved ones are but can’t do anything about it.

“They families wont stop until they have their boys home.

“I stay in Ardrossan and I am the local lobster fisherman, my boat is in Ardrossan marina.

“I am planning on doing a parachute jump with my wife in a bid to raise money to help the families out.

“Ardrossan has rich fishing history and I believe the local people would really get behind this campaign.

“I’m completely self funding my parachute jumps so every penny raised goes to those in need.”
