A NEW photography studio has opened its doors in Dalry - with help from the Dalry Parish Boundary Trust.

Lauren Shaw Photography, which is based in the town’s Main Street, opened at the end of the January and the £3,000 from the Trust went a long way to get over the final hurdle.

24-year-old Lauren, a former Dalry Primary and Garnock Academy pupil, is hoping to pursue photography full-time and the opening of the studio brings that dream a little closer to reality.

Lauren, with the help of her mum Jacqueline and dad Martin, refurbished the shop inside and the money from the Trust has went towards new equipment which will help her expand and grow.

The Dalry native photographs everything from pets, family portraits and new born kids and she is slowly branching into weddings too. She has been working part-time from her home as she got the shop ready. Mum Jacqueline said: “I’m a proud mum. The shops is good for the town, it is a real asset.”

The shop was officially opened by Lauren’s gran Jean Wales and the opening event was attended by Kenny Gibson MSP with John Smith and Robert Barr from the Trust there on the day.
