PUPILS, teachers and guests had a great time recently at the James McFarlane Burns Brunch in the Ardrossan school.

Taking place on Thursday, February 8, the event had a whole host of entertainment as well as a top class meal, served by the senior pupils.

Starting off with piping from the brilliant Michael McCulloch, the brunch opened with a welcome from Headteacher Paul McIvor and then there was some traditional Scottish dancing with Adele Alexander as Master of Ceremonies.

The haggis was piped in by Michael and carried by Fraser Welch and senior pupils before it was addressed by the seniors.

Entertainment from the primary pupils followed with Primary A singing ‘You cannae shove your papa aff a bus’ and Primary C and D singing ‘Nine Craws’.

More dancing ensued with the assembled community then taking part in Auld Lang Syne.

Everyone enjoyed the traditional haggis, neeps and tatties followed by oatcakes and cheese.
