THE Three Towns Growers hosted a very successful Ayrshire Potato Day at Saltcoats Town Hall recently.
The team from the Elm Park allotment site in Ardrossan had 40 varieties of seed potatoes on offer including the famous Ayrshire Early epicure.
Expert advice was offered by experienced growers, including the Herald’s own gardening columnist Jim Wilson.
Workshops were also held and stalls offered a range of locally made products, gardening supplies and crafts. S
pecial guests on the day included John Marshall, the ‘Potato Professor’.
The event attracted a great turnout to the Town Hall.
