George and Margaret Black recently celebrated their Diamond wedding anniversary in Prestwick.
George, originally from Motherwell and Margaret Cowan, originally from Stevenston met whilst on holiday at the summer Christian Mission in North Berwick.
The pair later married in Livingstone Church in Stevenston. Margaret worked at the former Doune Primary School in Girvan, while George was a senior lecturer at Reid Kerr College in Paisley, having enjoyed stints at Ayr, Cardonald, Kilmarnock, Motherwell, and Perth Colleges.
The couple, who now live in Prestwick, were joined recently by South Ayrshire Provost, Helen Moonie, who congratulated the couple on their very special anniversary
