CARING ice hockey aces from North Ayrshire have shown solidarity to a club from across the pond who were decimated in a tragic accident in Canada earlier this month.
The Humboldt Broncos hockey team were involved in a tragic crash which claimed 16 lives on April 6.
And North Ayrshire Ice Hockey Club took part in the call from the North American club to wear a sports jersey all day on April 12.
Media officer Kirsty Massie said: “We all felt shocked and upset when we heard about the awful tragedy in Humboldt, Canada involving a Junior ice hockey team.
“Although there was not much we could do for them, we did answer the call to wear your hockey (or any sport) jersey all day last Thursday."
She added: “No team should go to a match and not return home.”
